The bottom line: is this character safe to tattoo?
力 is an excellent choice for a Chinese character tattoo. It has a clear, unambiguous meaning (strength/power), no slang risks, positive cultural associations, and its two-stroke structure makes it visually clean at any size. It works equally well in simplified and traditional contexts. Native speakers will read it correctly on first sight.
If you want to compare before committing. Each has a slightly different energy.
Means courage / bravery specifically — narrower than 力 but more emotionally charged. Nine strokes, so more visual complexity. Great if your intent is specifically about courage rather than general strength.
Means perseverance / tenacity. Two characters together convey inner resilience rather than raw power. More literary and poetic. Best if you want something less common and more thoughtful.
